Frequently asked questions
Where does the containers.broker list come from?
Listings come from OpenStreetMap, the free community map of the world (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL license). We include U.S. businesses mapped as container dealers, container rental or portable storage companies, container yards, depots and terminals. We never add invented companies, reviews or prices.
How much does a shipping container cost?
It depends on size, grade, location and delivery distance. Our price guide shows estimate ranges with the date we checked them. Prices move with steel and shipping markets, so always get 2–3 delivered quotes.
What size container do I need?
A 20ft container (about 1,170 cubic feet) holds the contents of a 1–2 bedroom home or a small workshop. A 40ft (about 2,390 cu ft) holds 3–4 bedrooms. A 40ft high-cube is one foot taller — good for shelving, offices and container homes.
Is containers.broker free to use?
Yes. Searching, the guides and the calculators are free, with no sign-up. The site is supported by advertising, which never changes which companies are listed or their order.
Does containers.broker sell containers?
No. We are an independent directory and guide. Contact the companies directly and ask for photos of the exact unit and a written, delivered price.
